2026 NAAE Convention

Discover how culturally responsive agriculture education can increase student engagement, leadership development, and academic success. This workshop shares practical strategies for integrating Indigenous knowledge, local traditions, community connections, and student cultural identity into agriculture curriculum, SAE programs, and FFA Activities. Participants will explore real work examples from two agriculture educators serving the predominantly Native American (Navajo) student population in rural NM. Attendees will leave with adaptable lessons, activities, resources, that can be implemented in any agriculture education program to create meaningful learning experiences, foster belonging, and strengthen student leadership while honoring the cultures and communities they serve.
