Discover how CTE can bring multiple disciplines together through engaging, real-world learning experiences. This session explores innovative strategies that merge agriculture, culinary arts, criminal justice and critical thinking through immersive, problem-based learning. Classroom activities may include conducting mock food safety investigations, analyzing nutrition labels, tracing ingredients through the supply chain, creating farm-to-table meal plans, analyzing varieties of apples and their history, classification of fruit and vegetables, identifying and making cheese varieties and hands on safety training and hunters certification. Students can work collaboratively to solve problems, collect and interpret evidence, and present their findings. This session explores innovative strategies that connect agriculture, culinary arts and critical thinking through hands-on projects and problem-based learning. Participants will learn how we engage students in various topics that cross curricular disciplines and build excitement and school community.
