Teaching veterinary science requires that agriculture teachers be able to introduce their students to a wide range of topics, such as animal CPR and parasite identification. Due to limited training within agricultural teacher education programs, teaching parasite identification in an engaging manner often remains a challenge for agriculture teachers. This workshop is designed to help agriculture teachers tackle that challenge. During this hands-on workshop, participants will be equipped to teach introductory-level parasite identification practices and principles to their students. The workshop presenters will guide participants through the fundamentals of parasite identification and help them develop fun, engaging approaches to teaching animal parasite identification to their students. The workshop presenters will also discuss further veterinary science-focused professional development offerings for agriculture teachers.
