2026 NAAE Convention

Trent Van Leuven is the 2024 Idaho State Teacher of the Year and an agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor at Mackay High School in rural Idaho. Over more than 50,000 miles of educational travel across 32 states, he has built his teaching around the belief that some of the most powerful learning happens when students go somewhere, do something, and experience the world firsthand. He is the author of Take a Little Field Trip: A Teacher’s Guide to Going Somewhere, Doing Something, and Learning by Living, a practical, story-rich guide to helping educators create meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
